The gendered shift of representation, specifically the process of making computers masculine, throughout the late 1900s created a culture that pushed women out of the tech narrative. By understanding the origins and effectiveness of visual representation, we can effectively begin to shift the conversation to create strategies that address the root causes of tech’s diversity issues.
